Kelly + Healthcare
For 25 years, Kelly has been a fearless advocate for healthcare in California. As more and more of our critical safety net programs are threatened by Arnold Schwarzenegger, it is especially important to fight for quality healthcare.
Kelly has led groundbreaking efforts to provide healthcare for all Californians and to allow healthcare professionals full opportunity to care for their patients:
- Served as the statewide spokesperson for the Coalition to Preserve Emergency Care to fund emergency services
- Campaigned with AARP for Yes on Proposition 186 for single-payer healthcare
- Created the Women's Health Campaign to hold drug companies accountable for their dangerous drugs
- Created the HomeSafe Campaign to pass state legislation to protect people from toxic mold
- Built a broad coalition for the Fairness for Injured Workers Act, legislation that raised workers comp benefits
- Raised funds for the Los Angeles Free Clinic
- Created the Smoke `Em Out Campaign to expose tobacco companies' donations to legislators
