I went to Iraq in February 2003, just five weeks before the war, and again in July 2003, after "mission accomplished." I saw firsthand the impacts of President Bush's war on Iraqi children, women and men...and on our soldiers. (I published several columns, posted at www.CommunityCampaigns.com/Iraq.htm.)

Back home, I've addressed over 200 audiences about the impacts of George Bush's war on our state. California has sent more soldiers to Iraq than any other state. We've created more war widows, more war orphans, more injured vets than any other state -- at a time when Arnold Schwarzenegger is threatening the programs that help these families.

George Bush has spent $200 billion on this war, $26 billion of which has come from California taxpayers. So why is Arnold Schwarzenegger out raising money from corporations to take away our safety nets instead of lobbying his pals in the White House to get us out of Iraq?

I'm running for State Assembly to take our state back from Arnold Schwarzenegger. I'm running to stop Arnold Schwarzenegger's war on teachers... To stop his war on nurses... His war on community college students... On uninsured children... On public employees... On retirees... I'm running to take our state back from Arnold Schwarzenegger! Will you join me?
